Amit Shah addresses over one lakh page/booth chiefs of BJP from 8 districts at Nadiad

Nadiad: BJP national president Amit Shah today inaugurated a new district BJP office ‘kamalam’ at Nadiad in Central Gujarat. He also visited Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth place in Nadiad and later addressed over one lakh strong meeting of party’s page(electoral roll page) presidents and booth presidents belonging to 8 districts of central Gujarat zone. Shah called page and booth presidents ‘maalik’ of party. He said only page presidents and booth presidents can ensure victory of party. He said each page president needs to take responsibility of 50 families and make sure that they vote before noon. Shah said party has been winning in Gujarat for years, but in 2017 assembly polls, one seat less than 150 is not going to be considered as victory of Gujarat BJP. Shah said the goal of 150 seats is real and achievable. In Uttar Pradesh, the Yogi government is formed with 325 seats. Shah said Modi’s Ashwamegh which has been victorious across the state is now going to enter Gujarat. Shah shared figures of increase in Centre’s grant to Gujarat under the Modi led BJP government. He shared details of various Central government schemes that have benefited Gujarat.

Shah said it’s his challenge to take any five-year block when BJP was in power and compare it to entire length of Congress governments. The works done in BJP tenure will be far greater.

Shah attacked Congress for former state Congress leader Arjun Modhwadia’s visit to displaced people of Narmad dam project who have been given housing units 15 years ago. Shah said: Arjun Modhwadia went to displaced people whose house were built before 15 years. He addressed the press, put it on facebook and then Medha Patkar issued a statement that permission for Narmada dam progress should not be granted.

Recalling the law and order situation in Congress time, Shah said: ‘standing crop of banana would be cut. Curfew would occupy over 200 days of a year. Rath Yatra would be at risk in those days.’

Shah said there was a time when Gujarat chief ministers Madhavsinhbhai and Amarsinhbhai would not get appointment to meet the PM. Today PM is Gujarat’s own.

He said Narendrabhai would come for Narmada pujan.

Shah in reference to local media which according to him was favoring Congress said: here is a gathering of over one lakh party workers from one fourth portion of Gujarat but if you look at the coverage given by newspapers tomorrow, it will be somewhere in corner in small size. Now contrary to this if there’s a gathering of 125 Congress people in an auditorium, there will be big coverage in print. It will give confidence to them that they can get elected, but when election is held actually, they are not able to win. That’s the reality.
