Updates: Congress MLAs at Eagleton Resort and more

Ahmedabad:

– Gujarat BJP president Jitu Vaghani in his talk with media persons at State party headquarters said, Congress is not going to fly back the MLAs on Raksha Bandhan as announced by party’s state unit president Bharatsinh Solanki. Vaghani said BJP is ready to make arrangement for sisters of MLAs who want to go to Eagleton resort in Bangalore to tie Rakhi to their brothers. It’s worth noting that Bharatsinh Solanki had earlier announced that MLAs would celebrate Raksha Bandhan with their family members on August 7, a day before Rajya Sabha polling scheduled to take place on August 8.

-Dhanera MLA Joitabhai K Patel who has been taken by Congress party to Eagleton resort in Bangalore was shifted to BGS hospital due to low blood pressure. Another MLA Rajendrasinh Parmar from Borsad constituency also has reportedly fallen ill. Former MP Raju Parmar who is camping at Eagleton resort with party MLAs also fell ill.

Republic TV has reported that a Karaoke night and DJ night was organized for Gujarat MLAs at Eagleton resort. Republic TV South India bureau chief Pooja Prasanna reported this story. She said a local artist was called at Eagleton resort for this programme.

– Congress party has arranged a cook to cater Gujarati dishes to MLAs at Eagleton resort.

– Hospitality task for Gujarat MLAs was assigned to Karnataka Congress Energy Minister DK Shivkumar by the party high command. However Shivkumar is now facing Income Tax raid related procedures His brother DK Suresh who is also a politician has taken over the task of hospitality at Eagleton resort.

– BJP camp believes, however Congress tries, the MLAs will cast vote as per their wish. Congress had attempted such tours ahead of vote in Gandhinagar municipal corporation and Mahesana municipal corporation. The Councillors returned from tour and voted for BJP. Similar is going to happen in the case of this Rajya Sabha election. On the other hand Congress camp believes that against Amit Shah’s hype, the truth is that the Congress party could win a Rajya Sabha seat(Kapil Sibal) in Uttar Pradesh last year against extra candidate(Mrs. Mahapatra) fielded by Amit Shah. Same would happen in Gujarat too this time.

– MLAs elected from flood-hit areas of Gujarat are camping in luxurious resort near Bangalore without any sense of responsibility towards the people who elected them. There are six Congress MLAs from worst flood-hit Banaskantha who are camping at Bangalore resort to save one seat of Rajya Sabha for party. They are not going to accompany the Vice president of their party who is going to visit their constituency today! On the other hand three MLAs elected from BJP in this district including powerful minister Shankarbhai Chaudhary are camping day and night in flood-hit areas since flood. The Chief Minister camped here for five days and spent all night in flood-hit districts. Congress spokespersons and leaders look not-good when they try to defend the indefensible. Today’s it’s turn of Rahul Gandhi to defend the indefensible if someone questions him about absence of his MLAs during his visit to flood-hit areas.
