Ramsinh Parmar, Mansinh Chauhan join BJP; a big gain for party in Central Gujarat
August 27, 2017
Anand: A veteran Congress man, a Chairman of Amul, a seasoned regional leader Ramsinh Parmar who enjoys influence over two districts in Central Gujarat today joined the BJP. 5-term MLA Ramsinh had resigned as MLA just ahead of Rajya Sabha election last month. After joining the BJP today in presence of Chief Minister, State party president local MLAs, MPs and BJP office bearers, Ramsinh threw challenge to Congress to win even one seat in Kheda and Anand districts.
‘We were in Congress for 22 years (without power) but we thought there’s no future in continuing with this party. I heard my inner voice and decided to join BJP. I held discussion with local supporters and colleagues. They assured me their support,’ Parmar said.
Ramsinh Parmar said,’yesterday there was a meeting of Congress friends in Thasra. One Mr. Patwariji had come from neighboring Madhya Pradesh. He was attacking my family in his speech. I would like to tell him that he has no stature to point finger towards my family. I challenge him to win even one seat for Congress in Kheda. He is a newcomer MLA. Congress will wipe out in Kheda and Anand districts. Congress men talk about winning 125 seats in Gujarat polls. They may win 25 seats, that too will be too good for them. I know what’s going on in Congress party. They should not attack my family. We are very happy to join the BJP. I am in Amul dairy for last 33 years. The dairy has reached the mark of 7,000 crore. I have worked for all castes and communities thanks to blessings of Dakor.’
Parmar appealed the government to make Dakor a grand pilgrim place like Somnath and Ambaji.
Parmar at the end of his speech chanted ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jay’ and added that he was speaking this for the first time(as he has joined BJP today).
Mansinh Chauhan, other MLA who resigned from Congress recently also joined BJP today in same function. Rubbishing the Congress allegations, Mansinh said one Congress leader had spent Rs 25 crore to conceal a CD.
