Gandhinagar: Union Finance Minister and Gujarat assembly election in-charge Arun Jaitley, Defence Minister and co-in-charge of election Mrs Nirmala Sitharaman along with other senior leaders of ruling BJP are participating in a media/social media workshop organized by the party at its state headquarter Srikamalam near here.
Gujarat BJP president Jeetu Vaghani today said that Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel, two national spokespersons of the party Sambit Patra and GVL Narsimha Rao were also present during the workshop.
‘Around 500 party workers associated with the media/social media/IT cell of the party were also participating in the workshop,’ he said.
Another senior party leader said that the workshop was meant to guide the social media/media wing of the party to counter the propaganda of Congress on the social media and mainstream media.
The positive works and developmental work and agenda of the party should be propagated to commoners through media/social media more intensely in the wake of this year’s assembly election in Gujarat likely to be held in November/December, he said.
On the instructions of national president Amitbhai shah the comparative data of developmental work and other achievements during erstwhile Congress led UPA govt and BJP regime was being put on the party websites and it would be further propagated on the social media to counter the negative propaganda of Congress, he said.
The social media/media team would be given a detailed guidance for it in the meet,’ he added.
Notably, both BJP and Congress were focusing on social media for their direct to people approach as part of their election strategy in Gujarat.
