Amit Shah reacts to allegations against son Jay Shah
October 13, 2017
Gandhinagar: BJP national president Amit Shah today during interaction on news channel replied questions regarding allegations made against his son Jay Shah by Congress party based on a report on website which has been challenged.
Shah said:
‘There have been many allegations of corruption against Congress, but there’s not a single instance when Congress filed criminal defamation case and Rs 100 crore suit. Why they haven’t filed suit? There’s no corruption involved in Jay’s case but he has filed criminal defamation and civil suit. They(those making allegations) demand probe, but Jay has himself sought probe. If you have facts, then go to the court and put the facts before court. We ourselves have sough probe.’
‘This company has not done single rupee business with govt, it has not taken single rupee land from government, it has not taken single rupee government contract and has not taken commission like in the case of Boforse. Question of corruption doesn’t arise.’
‘So far as their claim that business increased in such and such proportion, my answer it, if you form a company and it has turnover worth Rs. 1 crore, would you say 1 crore fold increase in business or would it be right to describe as Rs 1 crore turnover?’
‘This is purely a commodity export business in which turnover is high but profit is (always) less. Rise, corn, flaxseed commodities were exported and dhaniya was imported. They say there was Rs 80 crore turnover but they don’t mention what happened finally. After Rs 80 crore turnover the final result was Rs 1.5 crore loss. Where’s money laundering in this? Entire transaction took place through cheque, bank and exports.’
‘Contrary to allegations, actually Jay received letter of credit against 100% goods and not loan. Entire amount taken from bank has been returned with interest.’
