Locals in Mundra taluka say no to proposed cement grinding plant of Adani

Bhuj: Local villagers in Mundra taluka opposed proposed cement grinding plant of Adani in public hearing on environment. In response to local opposition, district Collector Remya Mohan who chaired the public hearing said the procedure of meeting was noted and it would be made available to the government for final decision. A three-hour long public hearing was participated by villagers from Vandh, Tunda, Mota Kandagara, Nana and Mota Bhadiya, Tragadi, Deshalpur(Kanthi), Bidada, Moti and Nani Bhujpur, Nani and Moti Khakhar, Shiracha, Nanival. Vocal leaders of these villages said they had problem with existing power plants of Adani Power and CGPL(Tata Power) due to fly ash issue. They were not in any favour of one more industrial unit here which could damage their agriculture fields, further deepen the ground water table and not giving employment to locals.
