Gandhinagar: Incharge Director General of Gujarat Police(DGP) Pramodkumar is going to retire today. He is likely to be replaced by 1983 batch Indian Police Service(IPS) officer Shivanand Jha.
Jha is heading the intelligence bureau(IB) at present as DG. Jha has served as Police Commissioner of Ahmedabad and Surat.
Gujarat has not seen regular DGP in last three years after PC Thakur. In light of the recent judgement by the Gujarat High Court, Jha is likely to be appointed as regular DGP.
