Rajkot: Bus Rapid Transit System(BRTS) track in Rajkot will soon have movement of electric buses.

As many as five electric buses will run on BRTS track between Madhapar Chokdi and Gondal Chokdi as per the municipal commissioner Banchhanidhi Pani.

Pani said the buses will be available through the Airport Authority of India(AAI) as per a pact signed with the Rajkot Municipal Corporation(RMC).

Total value of the buses will be Rs 2 crore. The buses are likely to start running on track in next three to six months as per the plan.

RMC has three electric bikes and electric car at present. While electric bikes are used for office works by RMC employees, the electric car is used for visitors of local zoo.
