ACB nabs Sarpanch in central Gujarat taking bribe of Rs 30000

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today arrested a Sarpanch in Dahod district red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 30000/- from a person for not getting cancelled the allotment of a well in the name of his mother under a central government scheme.
Dy SP of ACB D P Chudasama today said that Sarpanch of Mirakhedi panchayat under Jhalod taluka of the district, Rakesh Rupsibhai (37) had asked for a total of Rs 60 thousand for not getting the allotment of well cancelled and getting its work started. Of this he was taking the first installment of Rs 30 thousand from the complainant in the Panchayat office premises.
He was nabbed by the ACB red handed during a trap laid by the bureau on the secret complaint.
