ACB nabs Income Tax Inspector and RFO in two traps in North and South Gujarat

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat police today during two different traps in Dantiwada of Banaskantha district and Vapi in Valsad district arrested a Range Forest Officer (RFO) and an Income Tax Inspector red handed accepting cash bribes.
DySP of ACB D P Chudasama said that in the first trap in the office of the Inspector of IT office at the ninth floor of the Fortune square in Vapi, the IT inspector (investigation) Jitendrakumar Kalluram was nabbed red handed accepting a bribe of Rs 75 thousand. He had asked for this bribe from a person who had sold his ancestral gem/jewelry to a jewelry shop where an IT raid was later conducted. The officer had issued a notice to the complainant in this regard and had threatened him that he would have to pay 10 to 15 lakhs as tax.He had asked a bribe of Rs 75000/- to end the matter.
In another trap RFO of Dantiwada Chandrakant G Joshi was nabbed red handed form his office while he was accepting Rs 12000 in cash from a person who had complained that the RFO had sought Rs 12000 every month from him. Joshi had claimed that the complainant had rented his tractor for illegal carriage of timber.
