Dahod: The Gujarat Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Monday caught Dr. Rahimbhai Ibrahimbhai Memon, 59, Medical Superintendent (Class-I) of J.S. Chauhan Civil Hospital in Devgadh Baria, while allegedly accepting a ₹40,000 bribe.
According to the ACB, eight students appointed at the government hospital under the District Residency Program (DRP) were allegedly asked to pay ₹5,000 each, totaling ₹40,000. The amount was allegedly demanded in return for assigning them favorable duties and avoiding harassment during their service.
The complainant, who did not wish to pay the bribe, approached the Gandhinagar ACB. Based on the complaint, the ACB laid a trap on October 5 at the doctor’s quarters in the J.S. Chauhan Civil Hospital campus.
During the operation, Memon allegedly accepted ₹40,000 from the complainant and was caught by the ACB. The entire bribe amount was recovered from the accused, and further legal proceedings are underway. DeshGujarat
