BCCI to give award to young Gujarat cricketer Priyank Panchal

The BCCI has selected young Gujarati cricketer Priyank Panchal for prestigious Madhavrao Scindia Award for his feat of being the highest run maker in 2016-17 Ranji session.
Gujarat Cricket Association Spokesperson Manish Shah in a statement today said that Panchal, a member of Gujarat Ranji squad would be handed over the trophy with Rs 2.50 lakh cash during a function in Bangalore on June 12.
Panchal has been selected for the award for making the highest runs and score in Ranji trophy during 2016-17 session.
Notably he had become first cricketer from Gujarat to score a triple century at the First Class level as he hit unbeaten 314 in Gujarat vs Punjab Ranji Trophy match played at Belgaum in Karnataka in November 2016. He had also made maximum run during that session of Ranji tourney which was also won by Gujarat.
Ahmedabad born 28 year old Panchal is a right-handed batsman and also a right-arm medium-pace bowler, who had made his first class debut in Novemer 2008.
