Man pretending as BJP office bearer does stunt for news coverage; party issues clarification
June 18, 2018
Vadodara: It seems Gujarati news channels can be persuaded easily. Several Gujarati news channels today afternoon reported that BJP’s taluka unit OBC morcha general secretary was in Vadodara collector office seeking government nod to start foreign liquor business. One Sanjay Panchal wearing saffron scarf of BJP showed his ‘identify card of party’ and told Gujarati news channels that he wanted license to sell foreign liquor for which he had written a letter to Governor. He said he wanted to hand over this letter to district collector. The district collector however didn’t give him opportunity to meet over his absurd and ill-motive stunt.
Vadodara district BJP, in the evening issued a clarification over this stunt by Panchal. District BJP chief Dilubha Chudasama said, ‘Sanjay Panchal claims he is general secretary of Vadodara taluka BJP OBC morcha. BJP office bearers are unable to understand, on which basis Sanjay Panchal is making such claim. He is not even party worker. It is possible that this person is doing this stunt to deliberately defame the BJP.
Chudasama further said, ‘we are saying this with utmost surety that this person has not played any responsible role in BJP. He is not active in BJP. Just by wearing party’s scarf, one can’t become party office bearer. Media is requested to present truth before the people without getting influenced by such stunts.
Chudasama said, Panchal has not been assigned any work of OBC morcha in last two years and he has not done any job for the party. He has personal animosity with his villagers. It is a matter of internal fight between him and his villagers due to his personal reasons. BJP has nothing to do with this.
