A day after Rupani, BJP Gujarat president Vaghani also hits back at Rahul for his tweet about Vibrant Gujarat summit

Gandhinagar: A day after Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani hit back at Congress President Rahul Gandhi for his tweet about Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the president of Ruling BJP in Gujarat Jeetu Vaghani also launched a scathing attack against him today.

Notably, the Congress president has yesterdytook a jibe at prime minister Narendra Modi on the reported decision of United Kingdom (UK) to withdraw from the vibrant Gujarat summit due to ‘lack of satisfactory commercial outcomes’.

In a post on social media, Rahul had said,”At the Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019, cynical sponsors no longer want to associate themselves with an event presided over by NaMo. They have left the stage, the way he likes it…
Empty.”

He had also posted on his Twitter account a news report which said after refusing to be a “partner country” at the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat summit, the United Kingdom (UK) on Friday said it decided to withdraw from the “show-piece, state-led event” due to lack of satisfactory “commercial outcomes.”

CM Rupani had hit back at him in a tweet which read ‘Such a shameless liar you are Rahul Gandhi. This time Vibrant Gujarat is seeing even more participation. Here are the facts:’ . The Gujarat CM had posted the link of a news published by the Ahmedabad based leading portal Desh Gujarat in which Rupani himself was quoted as saying that this time the number of partner countries have increased to 16 from earlier 10. The name of UK was not among these.

On the other handthe report posted by Rahul Gandhi said that UK is the second country after United States to pull out as a partner country for the summit that is scheduled to be held from January 18 to 20, 2019. The report said that senior diplomats from the United Kingdom pointed out that after spending 50,000 pounds each in bringing ministerial and business delegations to the summit, the quantum of business deals struck at the event were few.

Meanwhile, addressing a press conference at the BJP state headquarter at Koba near here today Vaghani reiterated that the number of partner countries have increased from earlier 10 to 16 and Rahul Gandhi has again issued a baseless statement due to lack of information and his anti Gujarat mindset with an intention to put hurdles in the way of development of the state.
He alleged that the Sonia Gandhi family had taken bribe in the Augusta Westland chopper deal. It was revealed in a court of law in Italy. Now the middleman of the deal Christian Michelle who has been brought to India by the Narendra Modi government as part of its battle against corruption has also hinted at the involvement of Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi as well as Ahmed Patel in it during his interrogation by the ED. Rahul should reply as to why his family’s name emerges in most of the scams.
