New Delhi: From James Bond to ‘Yes Minister’; Finance Minister Arun Jaitley used all his simile and rhetoric power to slam Congress president Rahul Gandhi vis a vis his attack against Government on Rafale.
“James Bond had said, if it is once, it can happen. If it is twice, it is a co-incidence. But if it is thrice, it’s a conspiracy. The conspirators of various defence deals in the country today have the audacity to raise allegations against us,” Mr Jaitley said in Lok Sabha during debate on Rafale deal.
Similarly, he said in ‘Yes Minister’, there was a saying, the worst politician and government is one which is unable to take decision.
“The Congress government was like this. About the then Prime Minister (Manmohan Singh), a magazine had wrote, ‘a Prime Minister in office, not in power’;” Mr Jaitley said.
He also said it was a national tragedy that a person who did not understand much about national security was today heading Congress party.
“It is a tragedy for country that grand-old Congress party is today headed by a gentleman who doesn’t even have basic understanding of what a basic combat aircraft is,” said Finance Minister
