District administration of Rajkot to acquire private land for AIIMS

Rajkot: District Collector of Rajkot, Dr. Rahul Gupta said, the district administration will acquire about 8 acre private land to set up proposed All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS). He said the government has decided to allocate 300 acre (120 hectare) government land for setting up AIIMS to Centre for free. Three plots in total 8 acre size owned by private parties is located in surrounding areas of proposed government land.
Proposed AIIMS will also require four-lane road to the site, railway over bridge, 20 MVA dedicated power supply through two separate feeders, shifting of high tension lines and required water supply.
Site location for AIIMS is at Khandheri near Rajkot on highway to Jamnagar.
