Surat: An instance of alleged triple talaq through whatsapp has come to fore in Gujarat.

The family members of one Farhin who was married to Jailun Javed Umarmiya in 2015, have lodged a complaint in this regard in Umegam police station of Valsad district in South Gujarat.

According to the complaint both the husband and wife were resident of Sanjan port road area. Jailun works in a shipping company and spend almost 8 months each year abroad. He had bitter relations with wife who had given birth to a son in 2016 whom he alleged that it was result of illicit relationship of his wife. This had led to Farhin’s going back to her father’s place but after mediation by relatives she returned. After that a new issue arose as the family members of Jailun allegedly pressurized Farhin to hand over her son to an elder sister of Jailun who was not having any child.

Farhin refused to do so and it had led to a fresh row between with her husband who has now sent triple talaq message to her over whatsapp.

Police was investigating the matter.
