Junagadh: A group of 100 students and 9 instructors, who had gone trekking near Joganiya Dungar on Mount Girnar, were suddenly attacked by a swarm of bees. In the incident, over 35 students and one instructor were stung and were immediately rushed to Junagadh Civil Hospital where they received immediate treatment and are now safe.

The bee attack occurred around 9:30 am as the students were returning towards Pajanaka Bridge after completing their training. The incident was reported to the trekking camp instructor, who quickly contacted emergency services and called a 108 ambulance for assistance.

Camp director Shailesh Bolse said, “We had gone trekking on Joganiya Hill on Girnar Mountain in the morning. While returning, a large swarm of bees attacked the students. A 108 ambulance was immediately called, and all were shifted to Junagadh Civil Hospital.”

Junagadh Civil Hospital Superintendent Dr. Krutarth R. Brahmbhatt stated, “More than 35 children were brought to the hospital after being stung by bees during the Girnar trekking camp. All received immediate medical attention. Fortunately, none of the children are in serious condition. In cases of bee stings, injections and medications are administered to reduce inflammation. Depending on the type of bee, treatment may vary, as poisonous stings can be life-threatening. Today, all students were treated in time and are safe.” DeshGujarat
