Ahmedabad,Gujarat
Be ready for 8th bridge in Ahmedabad. Yes, as per the target so far, probably this year only Ahmedabad will witness 8th bridge over Sabarmati River. In last decade it was taught in schools that Ahmedabad has five bridges but then area of Shastri bridge was added in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s city limit and thus it was considered as 6th bridge. Added to this recently Vasna-Pirana Bridge was opened up. Thus total bridges in Ahmedabad over Sabarmati River are now 7. This 8th bridge which is under construction will join Dudheshvar area on east and Vadaj cross roads on west. It is believed that this new bridge will lower down the burden of neighboring Gandhi Bridge. In video you can see how construction work is going on. Gujarati commentary is available in video.
