After Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi watched recent Bollywood film ‘Paa’ with its producer/actor Amitabh Bachchan in Gandhinagar yesterday, the Government of Gujarat has given this film a 100% tax-free status in the state a day later according to sources.
This means, once this decision comes into practice, the audience will have to pay Rs 20 less on every 100 Rs ticket to watch this film.
The state of Gujarat has total 370 theaters and 26 multiplexes. The 20% tax-free status comes naturally to any film that is shot extensively in state territory. Most of the Gujarati films get benefit of this scheme.
