Iskon Group proposes five star hotel behind Rajpath club, seeks concessions

Ahmedabad based real estate company Iskon Group has proposed a new five star hotel at prime location behind the Rajpath Club off Sarkhej Gandhinagar Highway in Ahmedabad.
The company has submitted a proposal in the state Urban Development department and has said that the company possesses around 4000 square meter land plot just behind the Rajpath club on the SG highway and intends to develop a five star hotel there. As the area comes under the residential zone, the company has requested permission in a special case to allow a hotel project on its land. Hotel will be multistory property.
According to the sources close to the development the company has also requested the state government to provide special concession in the FSI and height.
The project do not come under the new hotel and hospitality policy announced by the government because to get benefit under this policy minimum land area has to be 5000 square meter while the company has 4000 square meter plot only.
The project is in advance stage proposal. Sources claimed that the company has proposed more than Rs.500 crore investment in the project.
