Congress demands Rs five lakh compensation to each of 23 thalassemic HIV children in Junagadh

The Congress party unit of Gujarat’s Junagadh city today demanded Rs 5 lakh compensation to each of the 23 Thalassemic children whose are HIV affected after blood transfusion at Junagadh civil hospital.
Pravin Tank, president of Junagadh City Congress unit today gave a three-day ultimatum to state government to pay compensation. A memorandum in this regard has been submitted to the Junagadh district collector. According to Tank they have also demanded strict action against those responsible for the incident. Tank said his party has requested state Health minister Jaynarayan Vyas to personally visit the town before giving a clean chit to officials of the civil hospital.
The one member expert team of Dr Sunil Avashia, deputy director, state health department, which had landed in Junagadh on Sunday night, completed its probe and returned to Gandhinagar on Monday morning.
