Godhra, 3 December 2011
A group of Muslims in Godhra, burnt effigy of actor and producer of recently released film ‘Dirty Picture’ in Polan bazar area and shouted slogans against allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Muslims.
Muslims of this group, opposed lyrics of one of the songs of a new film ‘Dirty Picture,’ in which according to them, it is said that one should remove Allah and God from his/her heart.
The youths who joined the protest demanded that such offending words must be removed from the film and those who made the film must publicly apologize for such misadventure.
The Muslims gathered in Polan Bazaar before Friday namaz, and burnt the effigies of producer and actor of the film. Polan Bazaar is one of the most sensitive areas in Gujarat. Some time back Muslims had broken their TV sets publicly here after someone in a comedy show on TV passed offending remark, unacceptable to conservative Muslims.
