Concluding his day-long Sadbhavana mission fast at Godhra, Gujarat Chief Minister in his speech today said how Congress leaders treat Gujarat as a benchmark of development in the country.
“In Punjab some days back there was an election rally, and to attract votes, former Chief Minister and Congress leader Amarinder Singh publicly said to the people of Punjab, that if they give vote, he would take Punjab ahead like Gujarat,” Modi said in his speech.
Modi added, “This means even in Punjab they are thinking to go ahead following the Gujarat model.”
Modi further said, “in all over India, when they want to say something about prospect of development, they have to name Gujarat. If they want to say they have achieved development in some avenue, they compare it with gujarat and say they are ahead than Gujarat in this area. When they promise development, they say they would take the state ahead like Gujarat.”
With this, Modi said why should he react to the Congress people here(in Gujarat)? ‘
“Just copying Modi would not work. If you adopt some scheme, you would be in position to achieve some improvement, but if they want to develop the entire state, then I would request that the rulers would not achieve that just by adopting the schemes effective in Gujarat, but they would have to take note of the unity, peace and brotherhood that is prevailing here in the state of Gujarat. How castism, religious differences are buried here is a thing to be identified. When you would do same in your state, your state also will go ahead like Gujarat. This is the remedy that I want to reveal before the nation,” Modi added.
