Record break arrival of ships at Alang Sosia ship breaking yard

For Bhavnagar district’s Alang Sosia ship-breaking yard, the month of February has been most fruitful with highest number of ships arrived here for breaking.

Average annual arrival of ships at Alang remains around 300. The highest number of ships(361) arrived here in year 1998/99. This record has been broken this year with 362nd ship arrived here. In first 25 days of February this year the ship breaking yard has seen arrivals of 45 ships.

April 2011 – 20 ships, May 2011 – 40, June 2011 – 34, July 2011 0 31, August 2011 – 33, September 2011 – 31, October 2011 – 28, November 2011 -37, December 2011 -36, January 2012 – 30, February 2012 – 45 ships arrived.
