Post budget, Modi receives ‘thanks’ in assembly chamber

A large delegation of people from the forest areas and semi-arid north Gujarat regions today thanked Chief Minister Narendra Modi him for announcing a fresh budget of Rs.40,000-crore for the Van Bandhu Yojna and abolishing the ‘dry zone’ criteria for drawing water for irrigation in 57 talukas.
They met Mr. Modi at the Vidhan Sabha premises here under the aegis of Van Bandhu Samaj. The delegation was led by Forest Minister Mangubhai Patel, Minister of State Jashwantsinh Bhabhor and Member of Parliament Ramsinh Rathwa.
Other members of the delegation comprised the office-bearers and workers of Adivasi Morcha, prominent citizens, community leaders from different parts of the state.

A delegation of Kshatriya community leaders from Bhavnagar city and district called on Chief Minister Narendra Modi at his State Assembly chamber here today and thanked him for renaming Bhavnagar University as Krishnakumarsinhji University to commemorate the former prince of the erstwhile Bhavnagar State.
The delegation also comprised office-bearers of the Maharaja Krishnakumar birth centenary celebration committee.
It was led by Minister of State for Energy and Bhavnagar Guardian Minister Saurabh Patel, Deputy Guardian Minister Kiritsinh Rana, State Planning Board Chairman Bhupendrasinh Chudasma and Yatradham Vikas Board Chairman Mahendrasinh Trivedi.
They also expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for incorporating a chapter on the life of Krishnakumarsinhji, befitting the pro-people prince, in the syllabus of Eighth Standard books.
