Congress to gherao assembly if Gohil’s suspension not revoked(Video)

Ahmedabad, 3 March 2012

Former Chief Minister and Congress leader Shri Shankersinh Vaghela today warned the state government that if leader of opposition in Gujarat assembly Shaktisinh Gohil’s suspension from the budget session is not revoked within a week, the Congress party will march to assembly and gherao the assembly complex with thousands of party workers on 12th of March at noon time. Vaghela was said this while talking to media persons in Surat where he was present to participate in party’s Jan sampark yatra.

Meanwhile, the main programme of protest against suspension of the leader of opposition was organized in Ahmedabad under the leadership of Gujarat Congress President Shri Arjun Modhwadia.

Shri Modhwadia also warned the govt to march to assembly complex on 12th. He added that memorandum will be submitted to Governor and the President of India on this issue if needed.

The main dharna event against Shaktisinh Gohil’s suspension from assembly session was held in presence of Gujarat Congress Chief Modhwadia and other leaders outside the town hall in Ahmedabad. It was attended by around 200-300 party workers. This programme halted traffic of one lane on busy Ashram road frequently.
