So when is the Gujarat Tourism purchasing Caravan?

A Tourism fair in Rajpath club is showcasing an award winning caravan, brought here by the Madhya Pradesh(MP) Tourism.

The tourism official from Madhya Pradesh told DeshGujarat that they have bought three such caravans that are made in India by FORCE company.

The official said the MP Tourism charges Rs 22 per km with driver for AC caravan. Minimum 250 km per day is must, while night halt charge is Rs 500 per night.

The MP Tourism official said the caravans have visited Gujarat many times as those in MP prefers to take it in baraat to Surat or Vadodara etc places.

MP Tourism Caravan is equipped with studio style bedroom, wash room, chemical toilet, 2 LCD TVs, DVD, microwave oven, fridge stocked with snacks and cold drinks, center table, AC and three sofa sets that can be converted into bed for four persons. MP Tourism caravan can accommodate 7 persons(sitting), while 4 persons can sleep comfortably. Cost of each caravan was Rs 22 lakh when MP Tourism purchased three caravans in mid of 2010.

MP Tourism has introduced carvan packages like Bhopal-Panchmarhi-Bhopal or Bhopal Sanchi-Udaigiri-Bhopal. Package for two adults and 2 children below 12 years doesn’t include meals, sightseeing, entry, guide charges etc. Parking facility is given in MPT hotels.

Caravan tour packages save tourists from booking hotel rooms, air or rail tickets and other such hassles while visiting many places in one go. Caravan tourism enables tourists to visit forest and other remote areas where hotel accommodation is a major hurdle.

It should be mentioned that Gujarat Tourism announced plan to introduce caravan tourism in the state in January this year. Such facility could be launched in Kutch Rann Utsav 2012 – 13. Places like Jambughoda, Saputara, Gir, Somnath, Dwarka are ideal for caravan tourism.
