BCA to give Rs 1 cr scholarship to junior cricketers

Baroda Cricket Association(BCA) will give away scholarships worth Rs 1 crore to needy junior cricketers in memory of Late Ranjitsinhji Gaikwad. This decision was taken in BCA managing committee meeting headed by Samarjitsinh Gaikwad, son of Late Ranjitsinhji.

Other decisions taken in the BCA meeting:

-Presently, talented cricketers are sent to Bangalore and Mumbai for further training. However in future BCA will set up a state academy in Vadodara itself. The academy will attract talented cricketers from all parts of Gujarat. A committee is likely to be formed to take this plan ahead.

-Senior crickets will be cent to Karnataka Cricket Association’s Shafidara Shah cricket tournament and Buchibabu cricket tournament to give them more exposure and practice.

-Presently BCA has makeshift gym arrangement at Motibag office. However in future a new gym will come up over 25000 sq ft land for BCA members and players. A new BCA office will also be shifted to proposed gym complex.

-BCA will by land in Mehsana and Navsari districts.

-A junior cricket tournament in memory of Late Maharaja Ranjitsinhji Gaikwad will be organized by BCA.
