Ahmedabad, 7 June 2012
It seems Uttar Pradesh based Samajwadi Party is eying to fight assembly seats in Gujarat that are dominated by Muslims and migrants.
The party today organized a gathering of party workers in Ahmedabad’s Town hall.
The gathering was addressed by former central minister and three time SP MP Ramjilal Suman.
“Under the leadership of Shri Surendrasinh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party will contest Gujarat assembly poll,” Shri Suman told DeshGujarat after the function.
“We have yet not made our mind on number of seats we will be fighting in Gujarat. We are at present studying the local scenario and dividing the seats in 1-2-3 categories,” he further said.
Ramlal Suman said that Mulayamsinh Yadav would definately come to Gujarat for canvasing of Samajwadi Party. He showed confidence that Samajwadi Party would emerge as the third force in Gujarat and without the support of Samajwadi Party, neither BJP nor Congress would be able to form a government here.
When asked what shall be the agendas of fighting the Gujarat assembly poll, he replied, “Narendra Modi wins by terrorizing the Muslims here but Congress party has not been able to do much for Muslims, therefore we have come here. We will be the true representatives of Muslims of Gujarat.”
