The coronation ceremony of Samarjitsinh Gaekwad was held today morning at Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara.

Samarjitsinh is the only son of the late Maharaja Ranjitsinh Gaekwad who passed away on May 10 this year after battling kidney cancer.

As per the family tradition, throne should never be empty. Therefore in a low-key family affair with few outside guests, an hour-long coronation ceremony took place in which Samarjitsinh and his wife Radhikaraje assumed the Bhadrasan(silver seat).
