Interstate liquor transport: Gujarat Congress MLA’s son arrested

Keval Joshiara, only son of Gujarat Congress MLA Anil Joshiara was arrested yesterday for transporting illegal liquor worth lakhs of rupees from Daman to Gandhinagar.
According to Navsari police, the local crime branch staff was on watch at Navsari Boriach toll booth on national highway no.8 on Thursday evening when a Tata Safari car with a number plate mentioning ‘MLA Gujarat State’ arrived there. When police team stopped the car and searched inside, there were 26 foreign liquor boxes containing 600 bottles worth Rs 5,68,400.
Primary questioning revealed that the car was owned by Bhiloda MLA Anil Joshiara and a 24-year-old person in the car was MLA’s son Keval Joshiara. Keval lives in sector 8 of Gandhinagar. He was alone in his car. He had first reached Daman from Gandhinagar, and in return journey he was on way back to Gandhinagar.
Police recovered liquor worth Rs 5,68,400, Safar car worth Rs 5 lakh, and two mobile phones worth Rs 24,000, and arrested Keval Joshiara under prohibition act.
