MLA’s son sent on one day remand

Congress legislator from Bhiloda Anil Joshiyara’s son was sent on one-day remand by Navsari court.
MLA’s son Keval Joshiara (24) was nabbed by local crime branch staff near Boriyach checkpost, about 20 kilometres from Navsari for ferrying liquor from Daman. Police had found 600 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 5.68 lakh from his car.
Keval was later handed over to Navsari rural police.
Yesterday police sought five day remand before the court, however the court granted only one-day remand.
Police have seized the car registered in the name of Keval’s mother Yamunaben.
Apart from prohibition case, the police have also slapped a case under Section 484 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) for misusing state servant’s property and misleading authorities by using the number plate with MLA written on it.
Keval is a final year computer engineering student of L D Engineering College in Ahmedabad.
According to Police inspector, Navsari Crime Branch K N Patel, police have inputs that Keval has ferried liquor many times in the past also.
