-Gujarat’s perhaps biggest gambling and betting operator, Dinesh Thakkar alias Kalgi surrendered at Navrangpura police station on Sunday at 10.00 am. He was accompanied by his advocate and aides. As soon as Kalgi entered the police station, the investigation officer left the place and returned back after an hour with DCP. Kalgi was later arrested. Speaking to media persons, Kalgi said that he was not associated with Sudama resort. He was abroad with family when Sudama resort was raided recently. He was only just another visitor to Sudama resort in past. Kalgi’s advocate Gupta sought bail for Kalgi. Kalgi was brought to Metro court where he was asked to surrendered his passport in prescribed time. Police told the court that Kalgi would be released on bond after 7.00 pm. However his arrest was made in a cheating case lodged by a Bopal based complainant who last night in his complaint said that he was cheated by Kalgi in a flat deal.
