In photos:Hitachi’s AC manufacturing plant in Gujarat gutted; Loss worth crores estimated

The whole plant of Hitachi Home and Life Solutions (India) Ltd at Kadi in Mehsana district of Gujarat was almost gutted in fire on Wednesday night, and just metal structures remained standing. This detail was shared by Chief Fire Officer M.F.Dastoor today morning. No casualties have been reported so far in the plant where around two dozen employees were on duty at the time of the incident. It took five hours to control fire. The cause of the fire is not yet known. The plant has suffer extensive damages worth crore of rupees. The plant, started in 1991 manufactures air-conditioners.
“Last night there was a major fire at Unit No 2 at Kadi Plant, Gujarat, and due to which it has become non-operational,” the company said.
Hitachi Home & Life further added that the company has taken adequate insurance of the plant.
