Gujarat BJP’s open letter to Keshubhai Patel
July 26, 2012
By Japan K Pathak, Ahmedabad, 26 July 2012
For last many weeks, former Chief Minister and dissident BJP leader Keshubhai Patel is spewing venom against Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi in worst possible words, at every possible place.
Sometime Keshubhai crosses limits of sensibility, and there’s no dispute on this. Some words Keshubhai Patel used against Narendra Modi from the mic are not allowed to use in civilized families.
Till the date the Gujarat BJP has maintained silence, and has chosen not to react, but today there has been perhaps the first open reaction to Keshubhai’s offending speeches.
And BJP has chosen veteran party leader, Advaniji’s supporter Surendra Patel to d this job. So here is a veteran to reply another veteran.
Presented above is the image of Surendrakaka’s editorial in party magazine Manogat(issue published today), and following is the translation of it. Manogat is Gujarat BJP’s mouthpiece and Shri Surendra Patel, former Rajya Sabha MP is its editor/publisher on behalf of the party.
Our honorable senior, Shri Keshubhai Patel,
Namaskar,
I am writing this after reading your remarks in the newspapers – the remarks that a sensible citizen would not make.
There is no doubt that you have majorly contributed in nurturing the large tree of Gujarat BJP. Your image played major role in acceptance of BJP among the people.
Your present remarks make it clear that your dislike against particular person’s working style is turning into dislike against the party. Party is above the person is our main ideology.
Moreover selfish, anti-development and anti-BJP people are using your shoulder to put a gun to fire(and target the party). As a party worker I wish to request you that please stay away from becoming a tool (of somebody) and save yourself from ‘guilty feeling’ in future, due to such activity.
You are a senior and honorable(for us). It is (our) heartily request that don’t build Mahabharata like situation where Arjun had to fight against Dronacharya and Bhishma Pitamaha.
Vande Mataram
Surendra Patel
