The powerful Congress man from Bharuch, Gujarat is active in Delhi politics since the days of Indira Gandhi. He was offered ministry birth by Indira, and later Rajiv Gandhi but he refused and selected to work in the organization behind the curtain. So far as Congress is in power in Delhi under present leadership, Ahmed Patel’s influence in national politics remains to be very high and significant.
