Minakshiben Patel has been elected new Mayor of city of Ahmedabad. A meeting of BJP Councillors today morning selected Minakshiben for the post of Mayor. Minakshi Patel will occupy the new post for next two and half years term which is reserved for woman as Mayor. Minakshiben Patel represents Jodhpur ward in west Ahmedabad. Minakshiben was considered sure choice for the post of Mayor, due to her closeness with state minister Anandiben Patel who supervises the affairs of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
Councillor Ramesh Desai has been elected for the post of Deputy Mayor of Ahmedabad by party. He will be on this post for next two and half years. Desai represents Amraiwadi ward in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation.
