It seems, governments are not concerned about rise in prices of basic items of consumption.
Amul is once again all set to hike milk price by Rs 2.00 per liter from 1st July, 2013. Prices of milk per liter in Gujarat have more than doubled in last seven years. The fresh hike is translated into Rs. 42 per liter for Amul Gold, Rs 38 for Amul Shakti, Rs 31 for Amul Taaza and Rs 29 for Amul Slim & Trim!
In 2006 Amul Gold was available for Rs. 19, Shakti for Rs. 17, Taaza for Rs. 15 and Slim & Trim for Rs. 13.
Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation(GCMMF) that markets the Amul brand increased milk prices twice last year – first in October and later in April. Since 2006, this is the 17th price hike by Amul.
