Gujarat BJP MPs submit memorandum to Union Petroleum minister

New Delhi, 7 August 2013

A delegation of Gujarat BJP MPs led by senior Rajya Sabha MP Parshottam Rupala today submitted a memorandum to union petroleum minister seeking central approval for gas supply to districts such as Bhavnagar, Amreli, Kutch, Patan, Banaskantha. According to a statement issued by Gujarat BJP, the stae government has made infrastructure ready for gas supply, but due to lack of permission from central government, the state is unable to supply gas to houses.

Following is full text of the letter submitted to union minister by Gujarat BJP MPs:

Most Respected Dr.Verrpa Moily ji
Hon. Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas
Government of India, New Delhi

Respected Sir
Namskar

I understand that Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC), state government owned company had submitted proposal to grant necessary permission from Petroleum & Natural Gas regulatory Board (PNGRB) to start local gas distribution network in five geophysical districts of Gujarat –BHAVNAGAR, AMRELI, PATAN & BANASKATHA since very long time.

However, till date, GSPC has not received permission from PNGRB in this regard.

Sir, this issue was also raised in Parliament. I am failed to understand that when central government is working hard to reduce subsidy burden on petroleum products at a same time,
this local gas distribution network will help central government to reduce subsidy burden. Your good office is humbly requested to grant necessary permission to GSPC start local gas distribution network in five geophysical districts of Gujarat

With regards
Yours truly
