AMC approves four flyover projects including the longest one in city

Standing committee of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has approved four new flyovers. The work for Rs. 457.75 crore will start only after approval to the detail project report(DPR) by JnNURM.
Helmet junction: Rs. 234.38 crore cost. It will start from Drive-In and end near Vijay crossroads in east-west direction. It will be the longest fly over of Ahmedabad measuring 2.5 km. It will pass from above the existing north-south over bridge on Helmet char rasta.
Shyamal cross road: Existing Jivraj railway over bridge to be expanded both ways as to cover Shyamal cross road on northern side and Jivraj cross road on southern side.
The other two flyovers will be built at Hatkeshwar junction in Khokhra area and Dinesh chambers junction in Bapunagar area.
