Gujarat govt announces Tatkal Yojana 2013 for one lakh new agriculture power connections

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today announced ‘Tatkal Yojana 2013’ for one lakh new agricultural power connections.
According to power minister Shri Saurabh patel, farmers who applied for new agri power connection before 31 March this year are suitable to get benefit of the new Tatkal Yojana 2013 announced today.
The farmers will need to pay Rs. 500 during 1-15 November this year to convert their routine application for power connection into Tatkal Yojana application.
An applicants will need to pay 80% amount for new power connection in advance. An applicant will need to use drip/sprinkler irrigation methods.
Shri Patel said that in last fiscal year, one lakh new power connections were given, which was unparalleled in the history of Gujarat. Even this year the government has planned to activate one lakh new power connections in agriculture sector.
