“Chunav ke samay ek hath dikhate hai, satta par aake do hath se lootate hai”

Addressing a BJP campaign rally in Shahdol, Madhya Pradesh, BJP prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi today said the Congress leaders come at the election time and show one hand, but when they form government, they loot the money with both hands.
Modi said when elections come, the Congress leaders chant mala of poor, tribal, deprived…. They use all such words in dictionary, but when they come to power, they do nothing for them.
Modi asked political pandits to check the records of all governments to confirm that BJP governments have done much more than Congress counterparts when it comes to welfare of tribal and deprived section of society.
Referring to Rahul Gandhi’s remark that tribal should be able to dream that one day their sons will be flying those plane, Shri Modi pointed out that during decades of Congress regime there were no science stream schools in tribal areas. It was Shivrajsingh government that opened medical and engineering colleges in difficult areas. Modi taunted Congress leaders and said, “just talking about poor people 50 times a day wouldn’t prove you are kind to them.”
Modi reminded the people that it was the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government that created separate ministry for tribal, and appointed minister for tribal development. He said tribal people existed even in the era of Ram and Krishna, and even during the decades of Congress governments, but it was only Vajpayee government that took the initiative, thanks to which there are many tribal welfare schemes existing today.
Modi said a poor person doesn’t want to beg, he doesn’t seek anything for free. He just needs an opportunity to work. Give him an opportunity and he will convert sand into gold and create his own world.
Modi reminded people about Congress’s promise that it will remove inflation within 100 days. Modi asked people, “Congress ne vaadaa todaa, hum naataa tode, dallo par bharosaa naa kare.”
Referring to Congress party’s loud promises ahead of Madhya Pradesh assembly polls, Modi said one should not trust Congress. “They have their state governments in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra. They should first implement – what they promise here – in those states. MP will go to polling on 25th. Let them implement what they said here in other states in two-four days.”
In the beginning, Modi in his speech pointed out that Narmada river which has been a life-line of Gujarat originates from Amarkantak area of Shahdol, therefore this is very important place for people of Gujarat. A the end of his speech, Modi chanted Narmade, to which people responded with chants of Sarvade.
After listening to this speech @KartikeyaTanna on Twitter tweets:
Brave of Narendra Modi to say that poor don’t like to beg for freebies, but want to earn a living. Modi’s own life experience guides that view.
By contrast, Rahul Gandhi keeps talking about freebies and doles. Pretty much guided by his life experience- of not really having achieved anything.
What India, a land of immense potential, needs is a leader who inspires people to tap their potential to create domestic/global impact.
How Rahul Gandhi sees much of India is similar to how the World Bank used to see us – as a medium to bestow help for their charity- vanity.
Not only is that approach harmful for a land which has seamless potential, it is a brutal assault on the dignity of its people.
Delighted Narendra Modi has taken an electorally risky route of promising Indians an enabling enviornment for them to work towards goals.
