Tenders invited for construction of four new flyovers in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation(AMC) has invited tenders for four new bridge projects in city.
The AMC had proposed to build fly over bridges at 17 junctions. Procedures for 6 of them were initiated this year. Tenders are now invited for 4 bridges, for which detail project reports(dpr) worth Rs. 457.75 crore are already approved by central government under JnNURM scheme.
Proposed four flyovers are;
Helmet Junction(Drive-in road): Rs. 234.38 crore
Hatkeshwar junction(Khokhra): Rs. 44.74 crore
Dinesh Chamber(Bapunagar): Rs. 42.75 crore
Shyamal junction(Satellite): Rs. 135.88 crore
Total: Rs. 457.75 crore
Helmet junction flyover will start from Drive-In on western side and end near Vijay crossroads on eastern side direction. It will be the longest fly over of Ahmedabad measuring 2.65 km. It will pass above the existing north-south direction over bridge on Helmet char rasta. It will have 4 intermediate entries at Gurukul, Manavmandir, Helmet junction and Vijay cross roads.
Proposal Shyamal char rasta flyover will involve expansion of existing Jivraj railway over bridge on both sides, with an intention to cover Shyamal char rasta on northern side and Jivraj char rasta on southern side.
