Congress’s dilemma and Rahul’s Bardoli speech(Video)

Ahmedabad, 8 February 2014

Congress’s decade old dilemma on whether to accept “development of Gujarat” or deny it, surfaces again and again.

Party’s Vice President Rahul Gandhi in his Bardoli speech today bashed Gujarat government for lack of development in the state, but later in the concluding part of same speech, he said “Gujarat has risen(Gujarat khadaa huvaa hai).”

This happens often. Start discussion with any Congress worker on Gujarat’s development, and he/she would first refuse to accept development in Gujarat.

You continue to discuss more, and Congress worker would say, Gujarat was always a developed state. The development here is due to its people.

Or discuss even further, and he/she would say Gujarat’s development is due to central government funded programmes.

So Congress people contradict themselves. First they say there’s no development in Gujarat, and later they say there’s development, then they add “but” and direct their argument to convenient direction!

Rahul in his speech said, “development in Gujarat is due to sweat and blood of people here…..but one person takes credit for it.”

Interestingly, Chief Minister Narendra Modi himself had given a slogan “Main Nahin Hum – Team Gujarat”. Modi had organized a three-day chintan shibir on this theme. Rahul later choose to pickup this same slogan (word by word – Main Nahin Hum) for his maiden campaign.
