A healthy economy of Gujarat strengthens up Indian economy

50% amount of budget to be spent for the development of the deprived of the tribal and backward classes

Per capita income increased benefiting the poor

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi termed the Gujarat Financial Budget for fiscal year 2014-15, which was presented in the state assembly today, as the constantly dynamic budget that would add up to the healthy economy of the state and strengthen the nation’s economy.

“Gujarat with its constant economical growth and progress has become the ‘Growth Engine’ for the development of the country. And in this journey of development, every one of the society has become a beneficiary,” Mr. Modi said.

He stated that even the central government, bearing in mind the forthcoming general election has passed ‘Vote on Account’ for its financial arrangements.

Even when the Union Budget is not presented, then states also have a facility on hand to adopt the Vote on Account. “The Gujarat’s full-fledged budget would be presented after the general elections along with the Union Budget but the

presently ‘Vote on Account’ is taken to take 50 % of the State Government Treasury with a view to spending money on the development works for dalits, deprived, oppressed, and other backward classes of the society,” he said.

While outlining the healthy economy of Gujarat, Mr. Modi said that the given is the surplus budget. It also shows a huge increase in the per capita income that proves how far the poor has availed the economic benefit with an increase in their income.

He further stated that earlier Gujarat used to contribute about 5 per cent for the nation’s development but its part has massively been increased by 7-8 per cent since the last one decade.

“We have had notable contribution in agriculture, manufacturing and service sectors’ inclusive development along with huge role in agricultural sectors. Some years ago Gujarat did only contribute 3 per cent even in the better times but due to the hard work and endeavors of state’s farmers along with scientific approaches in the agriculture has led Gujarat with its desert areas to contributing 8-9 per cent,” Mr.Modi added.

The whole nation to note that Gujarat has crossed the landmark of the frugal government and while referring it, he called for to create a strategy for ‘collective efforts, inclusive growth’ so that everyone of the society could be benefited and Gujarat with its progressive economy could become a driver of the nation’s development.
