Ahead of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s visit to Vidarbha, 55 farmers have committed suicide in Maharashtra following damage to crops due to hail-storm. Modi is scheduled to address a rally in Wardha and hold a “Chai pe Charcha” session to discuss Farmers and Agragarian crisis. Modi is likely to spend two hours with farmers during his visit. BJP has demanded immediate relief without waiting for panchnama on ground. In the past, Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid visit to Vidarbha farmers, but failed to solve any of their problems. This is the region where thousands of farmers have committed suicide in recent years. Modi’s visit to this region is therefore highly awaited.
