Gujarat cadre IAS Rajiv Takru becomes India’s Revenue Secretary

Rajiv Takru, Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance has been appointed as the new Secretary, Department of Revenue in the same Ministry.
An official press release said here today that Mr Takru, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1979 batch (Gujarat cadre), will succeed Mr Sumit Bose, IAS (MP:76), on his retirement on March 31. Mr Bose is also the Finance Secretary.
Mr Gurdial Singh Sandhu, IAS (RJ:80), at present in the cadre, will succeed Mr Takru as Secretary, Department of Financial Services.
The release said the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) had also approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers to Mr Shaktikanta Das, IAS (TN:80), Secretary, Department of Fertilizers during the period of absence on leave of Ms. Aradhana Johri, IAS (UP:80) from 22.03.2014 to 30.03.2014.
