The occasion was 50th anniversary of diamond baron Shree Ramkrishna Exports Pvt. Ltd founder Govindbhai Dholakia’s arrival in Surat city. The guests were IIM Ahmedabad’s Mani Aiyar, former CM Keshubhai Patel, Anandiben Patel, Dilip Sanghani, Parshottam Rupala, dozens of diamond industrialists from Belgium, Israel, Hong Kong, Russia, China, Venus jewels owner Sevantibhai Shah, Consuls of Malawi, South Africa, Namibia, Lesotho, Thailand, Russia, Canada, Russia and Belgium. The performers were Javed Akhtar, Boman Irani, Shivkumar Sharma, Hariprasad Chaurasia, Prachi Desai among others.

The function was held at Sarthana exhibition center by Shree Ramkrishna export(SRK group).

At the age of 14, Govindbhai left his village Dudhala near Lathi in Saurashtra on 2nd April 1964 and arrived at Surat. The function was held to mark 50th anniversary of this day.

Govindbhai in his speech described diamond as God. He said Pujya Dongreji Maharaj’s line ‘if you like respect, give respect to others too’ changed his life. Govindbhai gave credit of his 800 million dollar company’s success to all well wishers and workers. He announced SRK Knowledge Foundation on this occasion for encouragement to knowledge and creativity.
