While speaking at a public rally in Azamgarh in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi today alleged that polling in the last three phases of Lok Sabha elections in UP, Bihar and West Bengal had not been fair and accused the poll body of being biased.
Modi who was denied permission by poll authorities to hold a public meeting in Varanasi, used the rally here to mount a fresh attack on the EC.
“In UP, Bihar and West Bengal there were reports of serious malpractices in the last three phases. I want to tell Election Commission that I had warned you on April 24 that you are not discharging your responsibility well.
“Polling should be free and fair but in the last three phases it did not happen,” Modi alleged.
Modi said, “I accuse the Election Commission of not being impartial”.
